Dermal Filler Injections

Dermal Filler is cross-linked (thickened) Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a sugar that’s naturally found in our skin and joints. While we’re young, HA is abundant and attracts/retains 1000 times its weight in water. As we age however, we naturally lose HA, resulting in hollows and sagging skin. HA filler is injected in the skin at different depths to restore volume, improve contours and overall harmonization.

FAQs

How long does it last?

You will see a difference after injection, but HA filler will continue to swell up to 30% over 2-3 weeks. It lasts approximately 6 months-1 year or more depending on skin type, area injected, amount injected, sun exposure, metabolism and lifestyle.

What areas can be treated?

HA fillers come in various viscosities to treat different areas of the face including tear troughs, cheeks, lips, chin, marionette folds, laugh lines, jawline and temples. The longevity in lips may be reduced due to it being highly mobile.

Is it safe?
HA filler injections are associated with risks and complications. There are many blood vessels in our face that we need to avoid, therefore facial anatomy and landmarking are very important. We also must have the appropriate knowledge and tools to intervene. Book a consultation to learn more!
